We’re an interactive design and marketing firm and we work 95% of the time virtual with our client base (VoIP,Skype and other collaborative tools) including managing remotely 20 servers, ecommerce sites, video streaming etc. Google’s 1gb would be a dream come true.

As an owner of two web based company, I rely on uninterrupted high speed Internet to support my income. Google has excelled at providing free applications for small businesses owners like me to run day to day operations on a small budget. Applications like GMail, AdWords, Checkout, Docs, Maps, Local Business Center, Voice and Alerts have been keeping daily expenditures at its lowest in order to stay competitive. If it wasn’t for Google, neither of my business ventures would survive in this economy.

A 1GB line would be extremely beneficial as I would save hundreds of dollars on web hosting from home instead of paying a third party and provide much needed clarity for VoIP. To an entrepreneur, there are endless possibilities of what a super fast Internet connection can provide.

A high speed internet connection would radically reduce the amount of time we spend uploading and downloading websites and related assets (graphics/flash/audio/video). It would also help us to collaborate with partners and clients more smoothly and seamlessly.

The faster the internet is, the more productive and efficient we will be as a company.

As a home-based travel agency, I am greatly limited by our terrible Comcast internet connection and would absolutely LOVE it if Jersey City was chosen by Google to have this very fast internet line.

At the moment, a lot of my travel clients need me to be able to send detailed e-brochures, complex itinerary documents and photos of their destinations but my internet is so slow and inefficient that I am unable to do so at all sometimes. Usually I need to break the information into various emails, etc to be able to send them these files. Comcast can’t handle it! It slows me down, it slows my clients down and makes us less efficient in our business. GOOGLE CHOOSE US, CHOOSE JERSEY CITY – we have a lot of professionals that work from home and a lot of productive businesses that would really thrive if we had this.

We are a graphic design and digital photography studio. We often upload large files for reproduction in other parts of the country and overseas. Faster upload times would be very beneficial to our productivity.

As a film and TV production company I would like to experiment with hosting my own video on demand site. This requires much faster and more reliable Internet than what I’m getting now from Comcast or Verizon.
It would also help in my daily work when I have to upload video for clients.
Right now simply uploading a 1 Gb high defenition video to YouTube for encoding takes 4-5 hours. I’m limited to one a day and it is an overnight process. I would like to be able to say to my clients that an hour or so after a video is competed I can have it ready for them to watch.
